Margaret Delores 'Mee Mee' Cumberland Wigington, 85, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at South Central Regional Hospital.
Delores was born March 18, 1940, in Kemper County. She graduated from Calhoun High School in 1958 and retired from Laurel Family Clinic as their bookkeeper. Delores spent her life around family and friends. She enjoyed meeting up with her sister-friends at McAlister's every Friday. Delores was member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where she served in the youth and children's department. She enjoyed reading and exchanging books with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Billy Harold Wigington; mother Willie Mae Madison Cumberland; father Earnest Cumberland; sisters Shirley Maxine Jackson, Shelia Faye Luker; and a special nephew (son) Charles Wayne Jackson.
Survivors include her son; William Gregory Wigington (Tina); daughter Sonya Wigington Graves (Scotty); grandchildren; Ashley Wigington Lowery (Shane); Kelsey Wigington Billingsley (Dr. Steven Billingsley); Allison Graves Jones (Nathan); great-grandchildren Noah and J.T. Jefcoat; Keaton, Korbin, and Lillian Lowery; and Autry Billingsley; sister Gwen Stokes (Odell); a special sister Judy Sellers; a special niece, Joysie Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Laurel, MS. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Dr. Richard Clark will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Shane Lowery, Dr. Steven Billingsley, Nathan Jones, Noah Jefcoat, J.T. Jefcoat, and Cruz Smith.
The family would like to thank the West Wing nurses on the 2 nd floor at SCRMC, Dr. Sam Dabit and Dr. Deepu Thoppil. A special thanks to a good friend and physician, Dr. Jack Evans.
Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
