It is with a heavy heart that I/we announce the passing of our loving mother Marie "Dara" LeBlanc Haynes today (May 3, 2023) after a short battle with illness. Mom was a strong yet loving woman who happily spent the last decade of her life married to Richard Haynes, and living in U.S. locales such as Gloucester, Virginia; Cottonwood, Arizona; and finally Laurel, Mississippi.

Dara's life started on Sept. 15, 1941, on the east side of Moncton, New Brunswick Canada, then moved to Montréal, Quebec; Southern Ontario, and Canada's West Coast in North Vancouver and Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by her parents Henri & Florence LeBlanc, and her brother Ronald LeBlanc. Dara is survived by her sisters Maureen Gormley, and Brenda Major (Bert); plus her children Kevin Gillies (Michelle Evanoff), Jason Gillies (Barbara Lambert), Tara Griffin Froese (Ian Froese), Melanie Griffin Baird (Steve Baird) and grandchildren: Jamie Leigh Kirkham (Raymond), Danielle Madison Gillies (Pat), Emma Gillies, and Brittney Baird, plus her great grandson Lennon Gus.

Dara loved her family and travel, and she had a special place in her heart for the U.S. South. Dara will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. At her request, Dara will be cremated, and there will be no service.
