Mary Elizabeth Brewer, aged 91, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Memorial Driftwood Nursing Center in Gulfport, MS. Born on January 9, 1934, in Laurel, Mississippi, Mary lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Brewer, her sons Ronnie and Jimmy Hodge, her daughter Tina Murphy, her parents Luther and Ruby Herrington, her grandchildren Jody Hodge, Michael Murphy, and Heather Murphy, and her siblings Luther Herrington, Jr., J.L. Herrington, William 'Snookum' Herrington, Foster 'Boots' Herrington, Vernon Herrington, Charles Herrington, Anna Laura Hodge, and Dorothy Herrington.

Mary is survived by her sons Tony Hodge (Margaret) and James 'Nubin' Hodge, her brother Billy Herrington (Sheila), and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Skyview Methodist Church in Sandersville, MS, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Blackledge Cemetery in Sandersville, MS. Bro. Dan Hudson will officiate the services, and arrangements are being handled by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.

Mary will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
