Obituary

Olivia Johnson, age 87, passed away on July 15, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital (Hattiesburg, MS) following a short illness.  "Miss Libby", or Libby, as she was known to many, was born Mary Olive Estes in Jackson, MS on September 29, 1934, to parents Rev. Carel Owen Estes and Mrs. Maurine Estes.  She graduated from Canton (MS) High School at age 16 and attended Blue Mountain College.

Olivia worked for many years in Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA as a secretary and bookkeeper.  She was an accomplished pianist and for a time, gave piano lessons to beginners.  She and her late husband Freeman loved to travel.  For several years they lived and traveled in their 5 th -wheel camper, exploring many states and making new friends across the United States.  Libby was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress and master of many kinds of hand needlework.  She was an amazing DIYer long before it became a popular trend. She was an animal lover.  Libby was a member of Agape Church.

Olivia was predeceased by her husband Henry Freeman Johnson, her father Reverend C.O. Estes, her mother Maurine Moore Estes and brother Edwin Estes.  She is survived by four children: daughter, Glenda Shane Sellers, son, Donald L. Sellers (Shirley), daughter, Kelly Sellers Taylor (James), and daughter, Nicole Rochelle Crowe; sister Margaret (Margo) Estes; grandchildren, Colin P. Menendez (Julie), Lindsey Crowe Hodge, Asher Evan Crowe, Emily Crowe Lofton (Matthew), and Riley Ty Crowe; great-grandchildren, Dani Elise Hodge, Logan James Hodge, and Bailey Kate Lofton; and great-niece, Adrian B. Ellison.

The family will honor the deceased in a private family memorial.
