Michael Maurice Thames, 64, of Laurel, MS passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024. He was born Monday, December 7, 1959 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. The burial will then take place in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Steve Harris will officiate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Sue Thames.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Danna Matchett Thames; son, Charlie Thames; sister, Marcia Hazelton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Thames, James Gunnell, Christopher Hazelton, Tristan West, Brent Gilbert, and Wyatt Windham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wessen Hazelton, Branson Hazelton, and Brody Hammons.
