Nancy Rebecca Smith, 74, of Laurel, MS, passed away into her Heavenly home on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her residence in Myrick Community. Born on August 28, 1950, in Laurel, Mississippi, Nancy was a cherished member of the Freedom Baptist Church, where she lovingly cared for the nursery.

Throughout her life, Nancy worked for L.B. and Annelle Holifield and found joy in word search books, watching TV, and her collection of stuffed animals. Her love for babies was evident in her dedication to the church nursery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Alma Adams Smith, and her sisters, Mildred Colley, Billie Catherine Berry, and Deborah Hancock. Nancy is survived by her brother, A.J. Smith (Nelda); sisters, Janice Holifield and Linda Sue Craft; special niece, Kaye Watts (Tim); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Freedom Baptist Church in Myrick Community. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, with burial in Myrick Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. David Felede and Dr. Rory Dill will officiate the services, with arrangements handled by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
