Norman McGilvray Trest, Jr, 80 of Laurel, MS passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Friday, September 22, 1944 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Bro. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman M. Trest, Sr. and Cora Mitchell Trest; son, Norman "Mack" Trest, III; son-in-law, Paul Loftus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Clydella Trest; three daughters, Missy Cook (Price), Nancy Zugg (Steven), Sayward Loftus; stepson, Essdras Suarez (Sara);stepdaughters, Eldrys Suarez and Teresa Finley (Ben); grandchildren, Tyler Zugg (Brooke), Madison Suggs (Ryan), Holly Smith; step grandchildren, Eleina Nichols (Charlie), Mikiala Blanks, Katsy Mirande, Madison, Alexis, and Peyton Thornhill,Valen Finley, Lauren Alexander (Javier), Joshua Loftus (Anna-Kate), Ian Loftus;great grandchildren Julianna Zugg and Tucker Suggs; step great grandchildrenTaven and Kanen Nichols, Selena Patlan, Brady Padilla, Kahr Herrington, Easton, CK, and Evie Mae Cook, Skylar and Lucah Carllile; two sisters, Gail Baker and Nell Jones.

Pallbearers will be Byron Pinzon, Price Cook, Randall Windham, Steven Zugg, Charlie Nichols, and Tyler Zugg.
