It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Patricia "Pat" Craven Byrd, 72, of Laurel. She was born September 4, 1951 and passed away September 30, 2023 at her home. Pat was the third child of the late Clyde E. "Jack" Craven and Earline Hodges Craven of Laurel.

Pat was a life-time resident of Jones County, a graduate of Northeast High School and a long-time employee of Jarden Corporation, formerly Neco Corporation. She retired in 2013.

Pat was a faithful and diligent member of Lake Congregational Methodist Church where she served as Church Secretary and also in charge of the Prayer Chain. She was a warrior and loved her family, church, and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; Clyde and Earline Craven, brothers; Luther Edward "Ed" Craven and Jackie Craven.

Pat is survived by her brother, David A. Craven (Lynda); sisters, Mary Craven Rustin and Pamela Craven Braddock (Ronnie) and sister-in-law, Fredna Craven; as well as a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Pat will be missed, and her memory will live forever in the hearts of her loved ones.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lake Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Rev. Brent Gilbert will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342

Pallbearers will be Scott Rustin, Brent Rustin, Jamie Craven, Matthew Craven, Ryan Williford, and Zachery Williford.

Honorary pallbearer will be Cameron Craven.
