Paula Denise Holbrook, 65, of Laurel, MS, passed away, surrounded by her friends and family, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on August 20, 1959, in Laurel, Mississippi, Paula was a beloved member and servant of her community.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, David Holbrook; her son, David 'DK' Holbrook, Jr. and his wife Lana; her daughter, Summer Holbrook; her cherished grandchildren, Ella Smith and Heston Holbrook and number 3 due July 31.  Paula is also survived by her mother, Carolyn Wash Brown and her brother, Albert Brown and his wife Missy.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Smith.

Paula was a Registered Nurse for 42 years. Serving patients from Home Health, the Operating Room, and finished her career as Director of Nursing for the Ellisville State School Community Homes. She was a small business owner of PS Likes, a booth at Peddlers Junktion. Paula's biggest accomplishment in life was her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Laurel, located at 607 W. 5th St., Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, with Bro. Shannon Slover officiating. Burial will take place in Ellisville City Cemetery in Ellisville, Mississippi. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is handling the arrangements.

Pallbearers will include Jason Herrin, Todd Herrin, Dakota Jordan, Wayne Batt, Wilson Bounds, and Andrew Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Harper and Edwin Blue.
