Pearlie Mae Temple, 78, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Born on June 7, 1946, in Stringer, Mississippi, Pearlie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years James Temple, and her children: sons Charles Williams and Brian Temple (Jennie), and daughters Wanda Benoit and Cindy McAndrews (Nathan). Pearlie was cherished and her siblings: brothers James Monroe Knotts, Jr. (Judy), Richard Allen Knotts (Faye), Tommy Joe Knotts, Sr., Curtis Dale Knotts, and sister Linda Smith (Jerome).

Pearlie's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jordan Heidleberg, Colby Smith (Heather), Brody Smith, Anthony Herrington (Makayla Farris), Danielle Howard, James Allen Heidleberg (Kristen), Jessica Miszkwitz, and Rachel Heidleberg, as well as her great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and her son-in-law, Tony Herrington.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Windy Herrington; her father, James Monroe Knotts, Sr.; her mother, Ethel Spradley Knotts, her grandchild, Erin Heidleberg; her grandparents, James Dempsy and Pearl Knotts, and Everett and Ida Spradley; and her son-in-law, Walter Benoit.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, with burial at Good Hope Church Cemetery in Stringer, Mississippi. Bro. Kenneth Smith will officiate the services.

Pearlie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
