Peggy Corine Smith, 78, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Laurel, MS. Born on October 6, 1946, in Jones County, Mississippi, Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Smith, and her loving sons, Philip Smith and his wife Jancey, and Ocie Smith and his wife Amanda. Peggy was a proud grandmother to Harrison, Haygen, and Reid Smith. She is also survived by her brother, James Ulmer and his wife Helen, and her niece Sharon Barlow and her husband Duran, along with a host of other nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Calbert Ulmer and Corine Blackledge Ulmer, and her sister, Fannie Merle Welborn.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, with Bro. Kevin Ulmer and Bro. Bill Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Montrose, Mississippi. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.

Pallbearers will be Brad Ulmer, Doug Rainer, Dusty Green, Cayden Hillman, Duran Barlow, Christopher Hillman, Thomas Hillman, and Keith Clark.

Peggy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
