Rosie Mae Livingston, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22nd from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Antioch United Pentecostal Church in Laurel, Mississippi with funeral services held there Friday, December 23rd at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin at 12pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Faith Chapel Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Rev. Joshua Pierce will officiate.
Born in Laurel, Mississippi on Sunday, July 24, 1938 to John & Carrie Hodge, Rosie spent her life in the Rustin Community until her death. She was one of 7 children. She married her soulmate, Jessie Livingston, Jr, on March 15, 1956. They shared 59 wonderful years of marriage until his death in September of 2015. They had 5 children together. Rosie held many jobs throughout her life, including working in factories, caring for the elderly, and being a home maker.
Rosie was a member of Antioch United Pentecostal Church where she was loved by everyone. A woman of the Pentecostal faith, she was known for her unwavering love for Jesus and would be considered by all to be a prayer warrior. She could open the floodgates of Heaven with her prayers.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie; parents, John & Carrie Hodge, brothers, Elvin Hodge and Freddy Hodge; Sisters, Jonette Mosley, Lunette Langley, Carrie Kirby, and Verlie Hodge. She is survived by her 5 children, Gary Livingston (Debra), WJ "Dub" (Pam) Livingston, Sue Teasley (Carroll), Travis Livingston, and Brenda Carroll (Ray), and one sister, Effie Hembree. She was a grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren who all adored her.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Livingston, Adam Livingston, Samuel West, Brent Sawyer, Bert Tucker, and Jordan Breland.
The family would like to thank her hospice staff: Lindsey Parham, John Cockrell, and Laedwina Jones for their love and care during this time. They also wish to thank her amazing church family for all the food, prayers, and support
