Serita Sue Bynum, 76 of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away Saturday June 20, 2026, at her home in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born December 14, 1949, in Newton, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bynum, parents Verdo and Mae Jewell Brooks; children, Marlisa Harris, James Verdo Bynum, Mark Brooks; brother, Ricky Brooks, grandsons, Thomas Rainey, Mason Harris.

Survivors include her daughter, Natalie Rainey (Richard); sister, Regina Harris, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
