Obituary

Sheena Everett Sharp passed away surrounded by her loved ones on September 27, 2024 at the age of 45. Sheena was born September 21, 1979, to Joann and the late Howard Everett.

She graduated from West Jones High School and went on to attend Jones College, where she earned a nursing degree. For most of her nursing career, Sheena worked at Ellisville State School, where she loved working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also would occasionally take travel nursing jobs that gave her a chance to meet several new friends and see more of the country. She was very proud of the work she did, and she loved helping people and her coworkers.

Sheena was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her fun personality, fast-talking storytelling, and love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. If you sat beside Sheena for more than three seconds, you knew she was going to show you photos and videos of her beloved grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Everett.

She is survived by her mother, Joann Everett; her three children, Kaighan Sharp (Davion Moore), Jackson Sharp (Caitlin Welch), and Landon Sharp; four grandchildren, Kailyiah Moore, Zaidyn Moore, Korton Moore, and Baylor Sharp; two brothers, Michael Everett (Shannon) and Joshua Everett (Victoria); nieces and nephews, Jennifer Broussard (Brett), Jade Lurz (Andrew), Rymingtan Lowery (John), Elijah Everett, and Beaux Everett; great nieces and nephews, Ivy Broussard, Jonah Broussard, Camden Lurz, and Beckett Lurz; and boyfriend, Matt Pankwoski.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Mickey Kelley will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Sharp, Gage Hancock, Davion Moore, John Lowery, Andrew Lurz, and Jacob Dobbs.

The family of Sheena Everett Sharp wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the University of South Alabama Hospital in Mobile, AL, and Pastor Mickey Kelley for their fellowship and comfort during this time.
