Shelton Bilbo Sellers, known to friends, as "Billy" passed away August 18, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary, in Mobile, AL.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Gunter Sellers, daughter, Angie Dee Sellers and son, John Shelton Sellers of Mobile, AL.
His only and beloved granddaughter Madison Olivia Horton (Maddie) was the twinkle in his eye.
He leaves three sisters, Sue (Marion) Dollar, Dorothy Blakeney, Mary Ann (Kenny) Hill all of Taylorsville, MS.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ben and parents, Shelton B. Sellers and Hester Thompson Sellers. Deceased grandmother, Bena Thompson was a great influence in Billy's life.
Billy began his life Jan. 11, 1941 in Shaw, MS and later moved to Mize, MS. He attended Jones Junior college and then joined the Marine Corp reserves. Billy earned his silver wings in Para trooping in Ft. Benning, GA. After six years he was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal. He was an insulator at Ingall's Shipyard, where he retired.
Billy loved God and family passionately. His eyes would light up at the mention of his granddaughter's name. His wit and joking will always be remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Blakeney, Lewis Sellers, Mickey Sellers, Gene Walters, Jason Hill, and Robert Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Dollar, Ken Nixon, Bob Walters, Kenny Hill, Raymond Sellers, Jimmy Gunter, Mike Alford, Johnny Nixon, and Steve Lyles.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 12:30 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and the Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mize, MS. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
