Sidney Eugene Phillips Jr., 79, of Laurel, MS, passed away on July 11, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 19, 1947, in Laurel, MS

Sidney served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He loved being outside playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Eugene Phillips Sr. and Mildred Juanita McWilliams Phillps.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 35 years, Deborah “Debbie” Phillips; son, Sidney E. Phillips III; daughter, Tamala Phillips Plott; sister, Brenda Phillips Calloway.
