Sylvia Rebecca Reeves, 81, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Care Center of Laurel. Born on September 11, 1943, in Clarksville, Tennessee, Sylvia was a beloved member of her community.

Sylvia was known for her love of the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, and bowling, and she also had a passion for running.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Reeves; her son, Randy Reeves; her father, Chance Young; her mother, Emma Ida Creek Young; her brothers, Rayburn Brigham, Sammy Brigham, Thomas Young, and Kenneth Young; and her sister, Shirley Schmidt.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fagan and her husband Dean; her step-sons, Barry Reeves and his wife Cheryl, Freddie Reeves, and Jack Reeves and his wife Linda. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joe Young and his wife Sonja, and Roy Young; her sisters, Louise Davis and her husband Paul, and Margaret Westmoreland. Sylvia was a proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren,, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, with visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, with Bro. Dave Moran officiating. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
