Thomas "Tommy" Allen Holifield, 73 of Laurel, MS passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Thursday, October 28, 1948 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS followed by a small Memorial service. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342

Tommy served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star for his service. Tommy loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a love for gardening, watching humming birds and mowing his grass. He was a skilled carpenter which he spent most of his adult life doing. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Holifield; father, Joseph Holifield; mother, Mary Valentine, brother, Darryl Holifield and grandson, T. J. Shivers.

Survivors include his son, Justin Holifield (Ashley), daughters, Brandy Maskew (Brian), Michelle Byrd (Shorty), Amanda Loftin (Jeremy), Melinda Shivers, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Glen Holifield (Glenda), sister, Barbara Roney (Larry) and a host of nieces and nephews.
