Tommie Ruth Benison, 88, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the MS Care Center in Raleigh, Mississippi. She was born Sunday, April 6, 1930 in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville with burial to follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Bro. Scott Flynt and Bro. Tommie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as her health would allow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ottis Benison; parents, James Otho Ashley and Zona Francis Craft Ashley and siblings, Mary Lee Ashley Wade, Erma Lee Ashley Jones, James Troy Ashley, Audery Olee Ashley, Mildred Mae Ashley Tuggle, Frances Lou Ashley (6 months at death), Thomas Ray Ashley (still born), Paul Edward Ashley and Charles Dean Ashley.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Dale Benison; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Michael and Patricia Kay Shaw Benison; grandchildren, Lelia Marie Benison, James Waylon Benison, Derick Scott Benison, Brock Treavor Benison; great grandsons, Brodie Scott Benison, Derin Jacob Benison, Owen Michael Benison, Casey Ellis Benison and sisters, Betty Lou Ashley Jones and Shirley Ann Ashley Jones.

Pallbearers will be James Waylon Benison, Derick Scott Benison, Brock Treavor Benison, Brodie Scott Benison, J.P. Hargon and Allison Thomas.
