Tew

Life Church
Starts at 2:30 pm (Central time)
Vern was called to his heavenly home on Friday, June 19, 2026. Vern lived his life and built his business with integrity and honesty, always thinking of how he could help others. What he cherished most in life was his family—especially his grandsons, Jake and Reid.
He was a 1976 graduate of Northeast Jones High School and recently celebrated his 50th year reunion. Vern began his career with Welex, a division of Halliburton, and continued in the oil industry for 46 years. He was currently a partner in Verde Services.
Vern was instrumental in the founding of Crossgate Bible Church where he served as an elder and a musician on the Praise Team. He was actively involved in the ministry of the body of Christ. Since his teen years, he has grown in his Christian faith and was committed to following Jesus Christ relying on the grace of God which was his source of strength.
He had many interests including golfing with his buddies at Laurel Country Club, where he boasted two holes-in-one on hole #9. He also enjoyed traveling in his RV. He and Becky made many trips creating wonderful memories with their special group of friends. But his favorite pastime was watching his grandsons in their various activities, which included lots of baseball.
He was born on March 10, 1957 in Homestead, Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernon E. and Laudia (Macy) Williams Tew. He is survived by his wife, Becky Hill Tew and son Rahn (Chelsea) Tew, and grandsons Jake and Reid. He also left behind a large loving family consisting of brothers and sisters—Frankie Tew, Janet West, Judy (Will) Williamson, Ricky (Sandra) Tew, Dikki (Sharon) Tew, Jimmy (Jan) Tew, John (Marsha) Tew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
