Wanda Curtis Dennis, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on March 5, 1930, in Wayne County, Mississippi to Clyde Leslie and Margarett Brewer Curtis, Wanda was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her.
Wanda dedicated her life to her family, nurturing and supporting them with unwavering devotion. She was married to her cherished husband, Pete Dennis, for 65 years, creating a partnership built on love, respect, and shared dreams. Together, they raised 3 children, instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion.
As a grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Wanda's heart expanded even further. She took immense joy in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, often sharing stories, laughter, and her fabulous cooking skills with them. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, where family gatherings were celebrated with love and delicious meals.
Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete Dennis and her sons, John Dennis and David Dennis. She is survived by her daughter, Margarett Dennis, son-in-law, Wayne Boyd, her grandchildren, Curt Dennis (Sharla), Lindsey Sapic, Eric Dennis, Cassi Ramos, Bryan Milligan (Krystal), Skilar Simmons (Cody), Heather Boyd Holifield, Sara Boyd and her great-grandchildren, Logan, Joshua, David, Ava, Aubrey, Zach, Blakelee, Hazel, Paisley, Tristan and Reagan. She is also survived by a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Wanda opened her heart and home to many throughout the years and felt a family connection to all who ate at her table.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be held, where family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor the incredible woman she was. There will also be a graveside service on Saturday June 21,2025 at 10:30AM at Lake Park Hills Cemetery in Laurel, MS. where Wanda will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Pete, and their sons, John and David, at the Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Wanda's heart.
Wanda Curtis Dennis will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, kindness, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May her spirit continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
