Margaret Blackwell and Harris Blackwell

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 7th, 2019 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, MS for both Mrs. Margaret Blackwell of Chattanooga and her son Harris Blackwell of Smith County.

A longtime resident of Smith County, Mrs. Blackwell was a graduate of USM and taught in the elementary schools of Mize and Raleigh.

She is remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to tell a good story. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 Years Charles Harris Blackwell. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Kaye Kilgore and her grandsons Joshua Harris Kilgore and Matthew Carter Kilgore of Chattanooga; her sisters Sara Swinney of Memphis and Kay Addie (Bill) of Crystal Springs; her brother Gay Carter (Wavelon) of Kosciusko and a host of nieces and nephews.

Harris Blackwell passed away following an extended battle with cancer. He graduate from Marion Military Academy in Alabama and attended MSU. He was an electrician whose work took him throughout the south.

He is survived by his sister Sarah Kaye Kilgore, his nephews Joshua and Mathew Kilgpre and his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 7th. The Memorial Service will follow immediately.
