Mrs. Bonnie Parker Brooks, 84, of Soso, MS passed from this life Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1936 in Jones County, Mississippi to Melvin and Dollie Parker. She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 1:30 PM at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi with Rev. Dwayne Parker and Chaplain John Cockrell officiating.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Parker; mother, Dollie Dykes Parker; husbands, G.C. “Dick” Newcomb and Burt Brooks.
She is survived by two brothers, Howard Parker (Billie) of Soso, MS, and James L. “Buck” Parker (Mary) of Soso, MS; three sisters, Marion Ellzey (Jim) of Soso, MS, Linda Hilbun (Elvin) of Hockley, TX, and Wanda Forte (Frank) of Hattiesburg, MS; fourteen nieces and nephews, Jan Walker (Eddie), Brenda Smith, Tommy Hilbun (Anamarie), Terry Hilbun (Crystal), Tonya Hansen, Troy Hilbun (Katrina), Trevor Hilbun, Ronnie Parker, Tim Parker (April), Russell Parker (Jennifer), Dwayne Parker, Kim Maner (Bill), Amber Barnette (Heath), and Adam Jones (Jennifer); a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her caregiver of several years, Annie Rome; Vincente and Jennifer Moncivais, Megan Teneyck, Rachel Riley, Katilyn Rowell, and the rest of the staff at Guardian Angels Personal Care Home in Laurel, Mississippi; Diana Tullis, Chaplain John Cockrell, Keith Gamble, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice Services in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Pallbearers are Tommy Hilbun, Terry Hilbun, Dalton Hilbun, Russell Parker, Eddie Walker, Heath Barnette, Dylan Barnette, and David Hilbun.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Parker, Tim Parker, Trevor Hilbun, Troy Hilbun, Adam Jones, and Bill Maner.
