William Everett Wells Jr.

William Everett Wells Jr., 82, formerly of Brandon / Pearl, now of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away Monday April 12, 2021, at Merit Health (Wesley) in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, August 7, 1938 in Livingston, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Bethlehem Community Church with burial to follow in Bethlehem Community Church Cemetery. Bro. Jamie Aultman will officiate.

Everett started his career at South West Forest Ind, then served as Vice President Mid-South Region at Georgia-Pacific Corporation before retiring after 30 years’ service. He put God first in his life and loved being involved in Bible studies, and teaching the Truth to others about God’s Grace.

After Retirement he served in the Gideons International, going on Mission trips, always witnessing and encouraging everyone to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation.
He loved his wife, daughters, grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

One of his favorite verse in the Bible was 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Everett and Clara Victoria Wells Sr; brother, Clyde Wells.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Theresa M. Wells; children, Michelle Green, Stephanie Simmons (John), and Christine Maroney (Russ); brother, Gene Wells (Jill); sister, Sue Fabert; sister in-law, Sue Ellen Wells; grandchildren, Carley Green, Katelyn Green, Kelsey Green, Morgan Simmons, Will Maroney, and Emily Maroney; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Simmons, Russ Maroney, Will Maroney, Lannis Walters, Wade Raulston, and Justin King.
